Milano Design Week 2022 opens in a few days, for the first time in its summer edition: from June 6 to 12, 2022, Milan comes alive again with physical design, food and music events throughout the city with the Fuorisalone.
The last edition was already 9 months ago, in September 2021, the date that marked the effective restart of Milan Design Week and Fuorisalone, with all the resilience shown in wanting to be there anyway against all the limitations of the pandemic.
And today, really almost as if after a long gestation, Design Week 2022 comes to life, the fruit of the work of so many and participating is a pleasure but also a satisfaction for the whole city. New scenarios and solutions in the name of a better future for the community, Design Week 2022 is now just around the corner: from June 6 to 12, seven days full of events, exhibitions and installations are in store.
On Monday, June 6, Castello Sforzesco in the heart of Milan will open its doors to welcome you. You will have the opportunity to feel free to enjoy the moment, fantasize and unplug from the Fuorisalone, devoting a moment of freedom and fun.
Milano City Center
The Square, Chef in Camicia‘s food court awaits you in the spaces of the Ride, former Porta Genova slipway with food trucks, show-cooking, concerts and DJ sets and events related to the world of gaming to merge different forms and modes of live entertainment with the aim of building new models of aggregation, thinking especially of the new generations, during all the days of Fuorisalone, during the entire duration of Milan Design Week, from June 6 to 12.
This piazza model,” explains Nicolò Zambello, CEO of Chef in Camicia, “is a real experiment in the panorama of side activities at Salone del Mobile. The idea came from the need to create a gathering space for people of all ages, especially young people, after a pandemic period that has forcibly redesigned the habits of interaction between people.”
From 11 a.m. to midnight, the event will take shape around the exhibition “Lego: The Art of the Brick” by artist Nathan Sawaya, featuring dozens of works of different sizes created with the famous Lego bricks.

From the Magna Pars, the world’s first hotel à parfum, also in the Tortona area, to the Lavazza Flagship Store located in Piazza San Fedele, going through EuroCucina, (June 6 to 12) 1895 Coffee Designers by Lavazza will be present both at the Fair and at Fuorisalone to show how the exclusive collection of coffees-masterfully developed by the “coffee designers” who select the world’s finest coffees in their countries of origin-is matched by the design of the machines used to prepare them.
On June 6, 8 and 9, it will be possible to taste two of the finest Specialty Coffee espresso references from the 1895 collection: the Avanguardia II coffee microlot, with its enveloping notes of orange blossom, chocolate and banana, from the forests of Myanmar, and the single-origin Calima, of Colombian origin, which combines the pulpiness of the lychee fruit with the freshness of papaya for a coffee with an exotictaste. This one will also be tastable in a cold brewversion using the Cold Brew infusion extraction method. Innovation and design to offer an excellent performance at the quality level, both to coffee experts and to anyone who aspires to experience a complete and high-level emotional coffee experience.
