Bologna in Vino: tastings and samplings

From 3 to 5 November, Bologna in Vino returns to Spazio Dumbo – All Saints’ Day with tastings and samples of wines coming from all over Italy

The exhibition-market returns to Bologna for All Saints’ Day

Back for the fifth time in the capital of Emilia from 3 to 5 November for a new and rich edition, Bologna in Vino, the market-exhibition organised by Arte del Vino.

As in the spring edition last April, the location that will host the fair will be Spazio DumBO, the urban regeneration project that has transformed the former Ravone freight yard into a multifunctional urban district for events, exhibitions and concerts for the benefit of the community.

Bologna, the city of porticoes and university par excellence, is also nicknamed ‘la grassa‘ (the fat one) for its pleasure-loving spirit. This makes it the ideal place to host a fair such as the one organised by Arte del Vino, which is aimed at enthusiasts of all ages and features wines and producers from all over the Boot.

Wines from the North East

And indeed, oenological Italy will be represented by various types and labels: from the sparkling wines of the north-east, to the fragrant whites of the south, passing through the structured and important reds of Veneto and Tuscany, in a journey that will cross the entire peninsula.

An opportunity to discover small and large realities through the words of the producers. Each winery will be narrated by a winery representative and an expert who will explain the special features of each label to visitors. In an informal and pleasant context, the most knowledgeable connoisseurs, but also newcomers to the subject, will have the opportunity to speak directly with the winemakers.

But there’s more! All those who wish to buy a few bottles to give as gifts in anticipation of Christmas or for their own personal reserve will be able to do so on site without any form of intermediation, from producer to consumer.

Gastronomic pairings

And to accompany the tastings and experiment with tasty food and wine pairings, there will be no shortage of mouth-watering street food prepared on the spot. As for wines, Italy will be represented by various regional specialities: from arrosticini from Abruzzo, to sandwiches with porchetta, from focaccia from Liguria, to a selection of PDO and PGI cold cuts and cheeses.
