Between historic majolica, Carrara marble and walnut wood, Casa 50 transforms 600 square meters into the new gastronomic living room of Naples: its own vegetable garden, open grill and atmospheres that change from brunch to cocktail bar.
A twentieth-century building becomes a contemporary convivial space
In Naples there are addresses where you can find a good cuisine and also an imaginary.
Casa 50, in via Sannazaro 10, is one of these. On the ground floor of an early twentieth-century noble palace, a project takes shape in which past and present dialogue without fractures, transforming architecture into an integral part of the gastronomic experience.
The project bears the signature of the architect Maurizio Vesce, who worked on a measured balance between conservative restoration and contemporary insertions. The goal of the client — the 50 Kalò group of Ciro Salvo and Alessandro Guglielmini — was clear: to create a restaurant capable of making the guest feel “at home”, both in the atmosphere and in the culinary offer.
Material, memory and contemporaneity
The identity of Casa 50 comes from surfaces. Frames, moldings, tuff and above all original floral majolica, an expression of the Neapolitan ceramic tradition of the early twentieth century, have been recovered through a specialized cleaning and consolidation intervention. Alongside these, Mutina Heritage porcelain stoneware (Time collection) interprets the materiality of stone in a contemporary key, building a visual and tactile dialogue that becomes the hallmark of the project.

The floors alternate Mutina stoneware and resin microcement, creating visual continuity between the rooms. Polished Carrara marble counters emerge as landmarks in the space, while custom-designed solid Italian walnut portals and panelling add depth and warmth.
The palette and the light
The palette revolves around a brick red that becomes an identifying element and guides the visitor through environments with differentiated atmospheres. The soft lighting amplifies the grain of the wood and the material surfaces, generating an enveloping effect that favors intimacy over spectacularity.
Restaurant, cocktail bar, social space
One of the hubs of the project is the barbecue area with counter and stools, designed as a scenographic but integrated space. Josper ovens and a vintage Berkel slicer are not hidden: they become architectural elements, presences that tell the culinary gesture and make the kitchen part of the internal landscape.
Books, author’s photographs and furnishings with essential lines complete an environment built by stratification, where each object contributes to the narration of the place. With 150 seats between the interior and the Mediterranean garden, Casa 50 is designed as a multi-scenario space.
From brunch to soft-clubbing
They range from weekend brunch to aperitifs, from dinner at the lounge bar, to soft-clubbing moments with DJ sets in the garden. The first of the two bars of the restaurant is right outside, to underline the hybrid vocation of the project: restaurant, cocktail bar, social space.

The gastronomic proposal follows the same logic of design coherence. The cuisine is a contemporary Mediterranean style that starts from the Neapolitan tradition to evolve in a technical and seasonal key .
The Vegetable Garden of Casa 50
A strategic element is the Casa 50 Vegetable Garden, which guarantees a very short supply chain for most of the vegetable raw materials. Selected meats and Mediterranean fish find their most direct moment of expression in the open barbecue, while the wine list favors Campania labels, with a targeted selection of Champagne and spirits for the cocktail bar.
When design is the structure of experience
In a landscape where design often remains a scenography, Casa 50 demonstrates the opposite: here interior architecture is the backbone of the gastronomic experience. Not a restaurant “to look at”, but a place to live in, where space, material and cuisine speak the same language.
