Legend Kombucha, one of the first producers of the kombucha drink in Italy, organised Legend dinners to make people discover and experience for themselves the versatility of the oriental tonic. Two weeks of appointments in Milan with Kombucha in pairing with food and cocktail mixology.

The format Le Cene Leggendarie (Legendary Dinners) created by Legend Kombucha – one of the first Italian artisanal kombucha breweries – has started. The aim is to make people discover the versatility of the ancient oriental tonic in special pairings designed to enhance its countless beneficial properties and unique taste.

The Legend kombucha company produces the non-microfiltered and non-pasteurised drink in Verona, following the original recipe and using only organic SCOBY.

To spread the culture of this ‘new beverage’ and to make Legend Kombucha drinks known, the company decided to organise this series of events, to offer it in combination with different kinds of dishes.

The aim is to enhance its flavours, from Mediterranean to Asian cuisine and the different consumption occasions – really from morning to evening, from breakfast to brunch and even after dinner.

So, what is Kombucha?

Kombucha is an oriental tonic with ancient origins, obtained by fermenting sweetened tea with SCOBY (a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast the acronym stands for Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). The SCOBY during the fermentation process digests the sugar and turns the tea into a naturally effervescent tonic. The taste is sweet and sour, rich in beneficial organic acids, minerals, natural antioxidants (e.g. polyphenols and amino acids)

Al mercato Steaks and burgers – Corso Venezia

Starting 7 November, for one week at Al Mercato Steaks and Burgers, Corso Venezia 18, some of the dishes on the new menu will be paired with Legend Kombucha.

Among the proposals, some of which are of oriental inspiration

  • Salmon sashimi on a bed of cabbage in citronette, marinated pink ginger, yuzu sauce and wasabi sesame accompanied by Legend Kombucha Ginger Bomb
  • the Fish & Vegetables Tempura with prawns, baby squid and courgette flowers fried in rice batter accompanied by Legend Kombucha Pome Granade
  • the New York Strip, sirloin steak served with Robuchon mash and beef jus, paired with the natural flavour of Legend Kombucha Original Blend.

The last week of November

At the Issei Rooftop – Radisson Collection Hotel

From 28 November until Saturday 2 December it will be the turn of the ISSEI Rooftop, the brand new terrace of the Radisson Collection Hotel, in via Santa Sofia 37, (Missori – Crocetta area) specialising in Nikkei cuisine, born from the union of Japanese and Peruvian gastronomic cultures.

Drinks with Kombucha

Combined with gourmet street food offerings such as Pork Belly Bao and Amberjack Ceviche served with ‘Leche de Tigre’ sauce enriched with Legend Kombucha Mockito, the cocktail bar will serve four signature drinks designed and made with Legend Kombucha , such as:

  • the Rosita Highball – a mix of Tequila Blanco, Agave nectar, Lime and Legend Kombucha Strawberry Fields
  • the Ameri-Ginger Bomb – based on Aperitivo Mix, Vermouth Blend and the spicy Legend Kombucha Ginger Bomb
