Milan Design Week 2023 is here, back in its ideal period, spring, after a few years of change. Like every year, the city comes alive with initiatives and events where food and beverages meet design, art but also music.
Fuorisalone 2023 from coffee to cooking classes with djset
Here are some food and wine events not to be missed during the most eagerly awaited week of the year, amidst iconic installations, extravagant performances and unique projects with internationally renowned designers in Fuori Salone 2023
Temporary Cafè Cabana by Giacomo in the Duomo area
from 15 to 23 April

Right in the city centre, Cafè Cabana Giacomo is located in the exclusive 16th-century location, Palazzo Morando in Milan. As well as being home to the Museo del Costume, Moda, Immagine (Museum of Costume, Fashion, Image.) from 5 April, the Palazzo will host the exhibition ‘FuturLiberty. Avant-garde and style’ and with the advent of Milan Design Week 2023 from 15 to 23 April comes Cabana Giacomo ready to welcome Milanese and non-Milanese alike for a break from the frenzy of the salon, from breakfast to aperitif. all’aperitivo

Street food from Argentina, design and jazz music
17 to 22 April

In the wonderful Piazza Santa Maria del Suffragio, 3 (V Giornate area), on the occasion of the 2023 edition of Fuorisalone, PIBÄ and FINEMATERIA are offering a week of Argentinian meat pinchos, French fries and beer to spend a pleasant moment after visiting the Salone.
Live music, Argentinian street food and beer will accompany the meetings, creating an unusual combination.

18 to 22 April, from 18.00 to 00.00

Meeting point for the design community during the whole week. The official opening will take place on Monday 17 April at 7 p.m. and will be open to everybody.
On Thursday 20, at 7 p.m., there will be an night of live and open-air jazz with Giancarlo and his sexteto de afro Peruvian jazz, an appointment to relax in company after a long day spent wandering around the salon.

Contemporary Arty and Mixology
Dada in Taverna 5Vie District 18 to 22 April

Somewhere between an extravagant salon and an art exhibition, from 18 to 22 April Dada Taverna restaurant bar will welcome visitors in a setting that is always new, as it will be adapted from time to time to the squares and courtyards where it will be set.
Noma the Immersive Active Room
An impressive 7-meter van, outfitted with interior and exterior spotlights, will activate the relationship with the city.

Projection of works on the surrounding architecture and immersive Active Room to welcome visitors inside NOMA, offering a unique experience.
Inaugurating this journey of “Ill at ease” will be the splendid Piazza Tomasi di Lampedusa, in the 5VIE district, now considered the slow district of the Milanese capital.
The same location where, on the corner with Via Morigi, stands DaDa in Taverna, the Dadaist restaurant and mixology bar where every artistic form finds its perfect harmony.
Art, music, drink and bun sandwich in Porta Nuova
DJSET 19 April
The perfect combo that 142 Restaurant has orchestrated for the evening of Wednesday, April 19. indulging host Sandra Ciciriello‘s passion for design, the restaurant is hosting Joe Colombo’s iconic 1968 Music Cart by Joe Colombo, which began as a cabinet for vinyl records

Reissued by Codice Icona – an Italian cultural brand that identifies and revives objects designed by the masters of the 20th century – the iconic object will exceptionally be on display throughout the week of Fuorisalone.

On April 20 and 21, the atmosphere in room “26” of the restaurant in Via Bergognone – in the heart of the Tortona District – promises to be boiling hot thanks to the presence of a “culinary mistress” who will accompany guests on a sensory journey to discover the gastronomic proposal designed ad hoc by executive chefs Alessandro Laganà and Mattia Fabris and the team of pizza makers at Cocciuto.

The menu, designed to be tasted exclusively with the hands, the “Dining Dominatrix” will blindfold guests and make them wear “Tidy Tips,” fingers condoms signed by designer Francesco Musci, in a game of deprivation and exaltation of the senses.
Erotic and intriguing, the exclusive experience is available by reservation only.
Also a destination of the Fuorisalone is the location in Via Procaccini – in the heart of the new design “district” of the Monumentale area – which, from April 15, will showcase the installation “Arnolfini’s Mirror” by Maurizio Barberis, one of the pieces of the exhibition “Esprit Magicien” byHoperAperta , scheduled at the Fabbrica del Vapore.

Cocktail glasses at Strega
Tuesday, April 18 to Sunday, April 23

During the Design Week, the Strega Design Collection, the first design collection from the historic liquor company Strega Alberti. is unveiled. From the encounter with glass manufacturing comes STRATA, a collection of unique and numbered cocktail glasses created by designer Lucia Massari and handcrafted in Murano (VE) in collaboration with Fornace Mian.

At Dry Milano, in 📍via Solferino, the visitors will be able to discover and admire a special installation – made with glasses from the collection, creative direction by Angela Da Silva, founder of SWING Design Gallery and taste the unprecedented “Strata” cocktail dedicated to the project by resident bartender Edris Al Malat.

A winning drink in which Strega liqueur meets fennel-infused gin, white vermouth, sugar and citric acid in a perfect mix that captivates the audience at first sip.

We Are Ona Pop up at the tennis Club

The travelling gourmet cooking collective, We Are Ona, present at major international art and culture events, makes a stop in Milan where it will occupy the Clay Court Club space at the Milano Bonacossa Tennis Club in Via Arimondi for a week.I

The We Are Ona pop-up, open from April 14 to 22, was designed by Luca Pronzato, founder of the fine dining platform, with architect and designer Cristina Celestino, creator of Attico Design.

The historic Bonacossa Tennis Club, founded in 1893 and designed by Giovanni Muzio, is revisited by Italian designer Cristina Celestino and for the Fuorisalone is transformed into “Clay Court Club”

The menu for the Design Week, created by French chef Marine Hervouet includes wine pairings for the occasion by Iris Godec and Pronzato himself, with 5-course lunch service (€77.27 per person),and 8-course dinner, (€113 per person) for up to 44 guests. (reservation required
